Last night marked an LBBP first: 2 batches at once! The Nightfall Ale and Revolutionary Amber were brewed up, basically, at the same time. From start to finish, my brew day was just about an hour long (including setup and clean up), and save for one little mishap transferring the Revolutionary Amber wort into the LBK...the day went great. All of my MB ingredients have now been utilized, so that is a little bittersweet as well. The NFA will be bottled and stored for a slightly extended period of time to allow proper conditioning, but the RevA is going to go into the MLHD (one more try with that thing) and I am hoping that it will be good to go by about the 4th of July! It had been a long day, I was tired, and a fresh pizza was just brought home by the lovely wifey...why not sample the AvenTINY? Since it was the first one, I decided just to have at it and not take any real notes. However, I probably should have! It was very smooth and easy drinking. Faint banana in the nose and during the sip. Hint of roastiness. Touch of chocolate. As the beer warmed up a bit during drinking, the banana faded and the malts became a bit more pronounced. The hops didn't play a role in the aroma or taste, but they totally balanced out this beer in a nice way. I'll be curious to see i
Due to a lack of time (by the way, the landscaping around my house looks GREAT at this point!) to dedicate to brewing up my next batch, Nightfall Ale has fallen to the side. However! fret not fellow lil' bastards...it will be in the fermenter some time within the next week at the latest. Then it will be time to order some new grains and hops and let some more LBBP Originals
just bottled up the stout last night, and it was a big haul. 13 12 oz. bottles, and 9 16 oz-ers! big thumbs up to FermCap-S for allowing me to put THAT much into the LBK without creating an explosion. the pipeline is packed now with this stout, the AvenTINY about 10-ish days away from testing out, American Devil, some Alley Cat, and Bavarian Blondie. wow! PLUS, Nightfall Ale is getting brewed up in the very near future...
