Got word from assistant brewmaster Jewels LAST NIGHT, that Little Bastard beer was being talked up at a get together she was having with some of her colleagues...and could I make a special batch for one of them that was hosting a dinner party? Sure thing, so when is said party?
The 13th...of September...
Someone was smiling down on the LBBP though, because her favorite beer, and her request: hefeweizen!
so that gives me basically 18 days to go from grain to glass, and if there was ever a beer that could do it, it is this hefe. Made a 4 gallon batch (4 3/4 lbs wheat, 3 lbs pils, 3/4 oz Hallertau) because I was planning on making one to send to my in-laws in Texas anyway. so perfect timing! 2 oe 3 2L bottles for the party, 2 2L bottles to send...and a few bottles for at-home QC. I am hoping that nature will get this carbed up fast enough, but worst case scenario I can hit it with the carbonator cap. oh, got an OG of 1.052, the ABV will be about 5.1%, with about 12-13 IBU. couldn't have asked for a better brew day.
