In preparation of finally kicking off life in Texas, a special beer would most certainly be required. It's gotta be a mass-appeal quaffer, yet tasty enough to represent LBBP. Yup...sounds like a festbier is needed! Only a few tweaks (dropped the crystal and chocolate, along with 8 oz of the Munich) were made from the original Festbier, so we'll see what's what in a few months.
Amblesidefestsbier - brewed 2/8/2016 (4.5 gallons post boil)
efficiency was a solid 84% OG: 1.054 - FG: 1.013 - IBU 24 - ABV 5.4%
This was an after work brew day, and it went as well as can be expected as you can tell by the numbers. The wort was chilled to around 60° (best I could do!) and the bucket went into the wine fridge...where after about 14 hours it has settled into the low to mid-50s and is actually starting to bubble away. Off to a good start!
