trying this again with a, hopefully, distinct nod towards Yards Brawler...I did make a few tweaks to the recipe: a little more specialty malts, there are no more Cascade hops, and the overall IBU was dropped slightly to just over 13 (Beersmith calculated)
Extra Innings Ale v2 - brewed 1/31/2016 4 gallons post boil
- 2-Row: 5 lbs - Munich: 1 lb - C-60: 8 oz - C-120: 2 oz - Victory: 4 oz - Midnight wheat: 1.5-ish oz (this is to darken the color)
- Columbus (9% AA) 0.20 oz @ 60 min (8 ibu) - Willamette (2.9% AA) 0.75 oz @ 15 min (5 ibu)
- repitch of Wyeast 1968 London ESB
OG ~1.051 - fg ~1.015 (est.) - ibu ~13 - abv ~4.6
this was a beautiful deep and rich brown coming out of the kettle; just what I was hoping for. and I basically dumped this on a full yeast cake, so I fully anticipate fermentation to take off like a rocket...we shall see!
